Some minor ;-) changes I had to make upon request at Stefanie’s board. The bottom is made out of zebrano veneer. The board has to be sort of pink and must be stiffer in the middle.

From my side, I tried to cut some building time, I hate to glue the two sheets, bottom and top together. Cost s foil, time and tape.

So business like usual, gluing together the sheets, 4mm bottom and 6mm balsa for the top.

Flip the veneer and fix it with tape. Now make scratches like you see on the picture ( face-down to the mold ). I use a screw driver. More scratches is better then less. They are needed to get the resin between the balsa and the veneer.

(This only needs to be done if you plan a veneer bottom like I have and if you plan to vakuum inject)

Now cut the balsa so it is slightly wider and longer then the bottom milling template. Do the same with the veneer. Now add spray adhesive on both the balsa and the veneer.
Wait till both sides are dry. Then press both parts together.
Mill now the outline and radius.

Do the same with the top. Glue, cut, scratch, spray, bond.

Drill the holes with a template. Those holes are essential. If you fumble them. the sky will fall on your head.

To avoid missunderstandings :

Now you have the bottom sheet, face down to the mold, it is covered with veneer. Between the veneer and the balsa you have the scratches like on the picture. The top sheet is glued to the bottom sheet. Between bottom and top sheet are also scratches. All this is drilled like mentioned in the above link with a template.

By the way – I will be off for 2 weeks kitesurfing :-)
